Deep Sea Angling Has Been Fabulous In May

This is a great season to enjoy some excellent fishing adventure in Key West, Florida. The weather is sunny and clear and the fish are biting off shore as well as inshore. In Key West Harbor, our savvy guides have been leading anglers on plenty of successful Tarpon fishing excursions.

Deep Sea angling has been fabulous at different depths south of Key West. Way out at the wall, where the depth plummets from 1000 to 2000 feet, our captains have watched their groups haul in plenty of Dorado (Mahi) weighing up to fifty pounds. In closer at 600 to 800 foot depths, out charter clients have been hooking Blue Marlin chasing smaller Dorado. Blackfin Tuna have been running well in 135 feet of water.

Thursday, Capt. Smith guided a party into the Gulf of Mexico aboard our vessel, the Coolcast. First, he trailed a shrimper to cast for Blackfin Tuna. After landing 10 tuna, they tried some wreck fishing, where they not only scored plentiful Pompano, but caught and released a couple of three hundred pound Tiger sharks on cut bait.

Tight lines and trophy trips,
