Key West Fishing Reports

Fishing Report - May 11th 2010

If you have been itching to do some fishing, this is one of the best times during the year to do some angling in the Florida Keys. In addition to enjoying the fantastic weather, you have a chance to enjoy a rewarding charter excursion inshore as well as offshore.

Tarpon fishing has been excellent this spring. Our charter captains have guided plenty of expeditions into Key West Harbor to fish for these large fish in the deeper channels. It may only be a short trip, but our guides know where to fish in order to nab some prized Tarpon.

The Permit spawn has also been occurring lately. Our captains have been taking advantage of this by piloting our vessels out to the shallow reefs and wrecks near Key West. Normally, Permit is a difficult species to catch. During the spawn, we cast near the structure using spinning rods and green crabs and the Permit bite well.

If you'd like to enjoy a successful deep sea fishing adventure, this time of year is excellent since Sailfish season and Dorado season intersect.
